Fort Scott Community College (FSCC) has been a pivotal program partner since CTEC’s inception. The work that CTEC is doing in Southeast Kansas simply wouldn’t be possible without FSCC. Our organization and the students it supports couldn’t be more grateful for the college’s vital role in the program.
FSCC is the principal tenant of CTEC’s Pittsburg campus. This means that while courses are held at CTEC’s facility, the majority of instruction, as well as credits and certifications earned, are managed and/or coordinated by FSCC. FSCC is a fully-accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities.
The dynamic partnership between FSCC and CTEC allows a variety of Southeast Kansans—high school students, college students, and adult learners—to learn career-building skills locally and affordably.
The majority of high school students are dual-enrolled in both their local high schools and FSCC, when learning on CTEC’s campus. This means they earn not only high school credit but also free college credits, thanks to funding made available by Kansas’ “Excel in CTE” bill, as well as generous, private donors. College students and adult-learners also have the opportunity to earn college credit and certifications here as well. Thanks to a variety of scholarships and financial aid services available, FSCC’s already affordable rates are made even more attainable to these students.
CTEC could not be prouder to partner with a respected institution like FSCC. Together, CTEC and FSCC equip motivated, local students with the skills they need to work and thrive right here in Southeast Kansas.
